New talent always finds its way to tinsel town, and most recently, the industry is all set to welcome Aishwarya Prasad to Sandalwood. While she will be making her debut with Aravind Kaushik’s directorial Shardoola, for which shooting is going on, her next project has her associating with director Guru Desphande for his upcoming film Paddehulli.

The heroine will be sharing screen space with Shreyas Manju in his debut venture, which also features Nishvika Naidu in the female lead.

Aishwarya Prasad, from Mysuru and now settled in Bengaluru, will be joining the bandwagon of the long list of models who got into films. Winner of beauty pageant Miss Mysuru, she was also among the top 10 contestants at Femina Miss India 2017. But it was the commercial she did with Puneeth Rajkumar that did the trick, says Aishwarya, who eventually bagged a few good TVCs before getting her first project.

Often compared to the Bollywood beauty Mouni Roy, this long-legged lass, like many other heroines, used modelling as a stepping stone to enter the industry.

“I always wanted to get under the limelight, but the urge to be an actor came to me when I joined acting classes and when I became the face of big brands and advertisements. To be a model, all you need to do is maintain yourself, but I aim to be a good artiste, so I chose the film path,” says Aishwarya, who doesn’t come from a cinema background.

“My grandfather Chinnaswamy was a politician and my family has an agricultural background,” she says. She is also happy to step into her first commercial venture, in which she plays a college-going girl.

“My film with Aravind is taking time, and when Guru Deshpande approached me for this role in Paddehulli,  I took it up for a few reasons - it’s Shreyas Manju’s debut, and this will help me make my mark in the Kannada industry too. I hope I will make the right moves to further my career,” she says.
