‘KGF is an Identity’

says Yash, who describes the magnum opus to be every Kannadiga’s pride
‘KGF is an Identity’

For Yash, being part of KGF has been a journey with seasons. With almost a year shooting for the magnum opus, he says that he experienced every weather in different parts of the state, right from the roasting heat of Kolar, the rains ofMysuru and got into the cold weather of Bengaluru and back to shooting in summer.

“We had a tough time during our first schedule, which was shot in Kolar. It was extremely hot, especially between 12 and 3 pm, and got worse with not even a single tree around. The humid wind all throughout made it worse. Completing almost a year on this project, I now feel KGF was a journey in itself,” says Yash, who also remembered how this film came at a crucial time, when he was getting married.

“It was a time when I had to juggle between shoot and give time to my family too, but guess I balanced it well. I felt a lot of things happened around this time and I cherished every moment.,” he adds.

Directed by Prashanth Neel under Hombale Films, KGF will be released in five languages. Talking about his character Rocky in the film, Yash says, “Rocky is confident and fearless. Of course, the things what he does on screen is not similar. I share the attitude, which is tailor-made for me,” he says.

According to him, the magnitude of the film is huge and the makers took a lot of time on the elaborate designs. “As we started, the expectations and scope grew. We realised we were making something big. After a year, I am confident, this film will be a symbol of our pride, the pride of every Kannadiga.
KGF is an identity in itself. There was no compromise and only a lot of dates were sacrificed just to get everything right,” he asserts.

Currently shooting for the song sequences, Yash has just 10 days of work, when he will be completing his portions after which the team might extend another week for some stock shots before they wrap up.

The film’s post-production work is going on in parallel and according to the actor, everything is going according to plan.” Yash also has a message to all his fans about KGF. “Just wait in patience, and you will be in for a big treat,’’ he says.  The film has music by Ravi Basrur and cinematography by Bhuvan Gowda.

Clean-shaven?

Having grown a thick beard for almost a year now, news of him getting rid of it spread like wild fire. But, Yash cleared the air and said, “It is all a rumour. I am still sporting the beard look and will only be shaving by month end.”
