Vidya Balan’s special song appearance in ‘Urimi’

The actress says that she is starring in the Malayalam film only to make her parents happy.

Vidya Balan has now started considering offers from Tamil and Malayalam. She says that she has changed her mind now to please her parents.

Vidya’s parents are Palakkad Iyers and they want their daughter to act in Tamil and Malayalam films. In the South Indian film industry, she had made her debut with ‘Chakram’, a Malayalam movie. But the movie crashed at the box office.

Then, she was offered a Tamil movie, but just days ahead of its shooting, she was replaced with Trisha. After this, she moved to Mumbai.

However, she has agreed to appear in a special song sequence in director Santosh Sivan’s ‘Urumi’. Her role in Urumi, though not a full-fledged one, is a gift to her parents. The sensuous item number that Vidya will be doing in the film is a fusion of various classical and contemporary dance forms.
