CHENNAI: Looks like Siddhique isn’t going to have it easy with the Tamil remake of his Malayalam hit ‘Bodyguard’.

Initially there were rumours that there were quarrels between the Tamil version’s hero, Vijay, and him. Even before those talks faded away, Vijay got himself into a huge financial mess with the failure of his recent release, ‘Sura’. Now, a bigger trouble has surfaced.

Johnny Thomas, from Chennai, has filed a petition in the city. He states in the petition, “I had produced the Malayalam film ‘Body Guard’ in 2008 and had appointed JK Siddhique to direct this film. He was paid Rs 40 Lakhs as salary. The shooting of the film was completed and released in Kerala. The film did well at the box office.

“While drawing up the agreement there was a condition stipulating that the director should complete the film in 45 days. But the director completed the film in 120 days which resulted in additional expense for me. Now, without my knowledge he is producing this film in Tamil titled ‘Kaavalkaran’ with Vijay in the lead role. He has no right to remake this film without my permission.

“In view of the foregoing, I requested the Court to direct the police to register a case against him."

The Court has directed the police to look into the matter.
