'Nirakazhcha’ goes Italian

Aneesh J Karanad will dub the film in Italian after adding more scenes to make it palatable to the European audience.

KOCHI: ‘Nirakazhcha,’ the Malayalam film written and directed by debutant Aneesh J Karanad, will be dubbed in Italian and screened at 600 theatres all over Italy. The director said that he got the offer following the recent screening of the movie at the Maratea International Film Festival in Italy.

‘Nirakazhcha’ will also be dubbed in Indian languages including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada. The film will also be dubbed in Spanish, German, Russian and Arabic. The story of the movie revolves around an Italian painter played by Italian television and stage actor Vincenzo Bocciarelli. The painter comes to Kerala to recreate Raja Ravi Varma paintings. He falls in love with a model played by Mamta Mohandas.

The director said that he will soon start work on the dubbing of the film in Italian. Aneesh wants to add some more scenes to the movie to make it more palatable to the Italian audience.

“Only after this, will the film be ready for the foreign audience,” Aneesh said. “Besides being screened in 600 theatres in Italy, ‘Nirakazhcha’ will also be aired on a major television channel there.” ‘Nirakazhcha’ was released in Kerala on August 27. The film is produced by Global Moviemakers. Rahima, Manoj K Jayan, Nicole and Daisy Chacko also feature in the cast. M Jayachandran has composed the music.
