KOCHI: After six years, the AMMA, the organisation of Malayalam film actors’ fraternity, is back with another mega show. The show ‘Suryathejasode AMMA’ will be held in Kozhikode on March 2 and in Bangalore on February 27.

Surya TV has the rights over the telecast and other promotions of the star-studded show. Filmmaker Siddique will be the director of the show and Edavela Babu will be the event manager.

The objective of the show is to raise funds to provide medical aid to the needy artistes, who are not self-sustainable, AMMA president Innocent said. AMMA offers financial aid to the families of artistes who are left high and dry and gives monthly emoluments to a number of deserving artistes. Ravi Menon, group programming head, Surya TV, said the show would also be a venue to honour yesteryear-artistes who had contributed to Malayalam cinema.

AMMA secretary Edavela Babu said the show would be an extension of the welfare activities of the organisation, which had started with the fundraiser film Twenty20. The show will feature all the major stars in Malayalam and will be an absolute entertainer, Babu added. The Bangalore show will be a ticketed one and will be jointly organised by the Karnataka Nair Service Society, Delta Productions and Nadham Marketing Company.
