KOCHI: Diverting from his customary comedy track, hitmaker Johnny Antony is coming up with a thriller this time. In his latest movie ‘Masters,’ the director teams up with Prithviraj and Tamil actor Sasikumar (‘Subramaniapuram’ fame) for the first time. Scripted by debutant Jinu Abraham, ‘Masters’ unfolds the story of two friends - Sreerama Krishnan and Milan Paul. The friends who part ways after their college days, reunite later in a different town. Sreeramakrishnan is an Assistant Superintendent of Police while Milan Paul is an investigative journalist now.
The friends continue to share their bond, even discuss official things with each other. Meanwhile, the town witnesses some mysterious events. Sreeramakrishnan kick starts his own investigation into it. The controversial incidents grabbed Milan Paul’s attention too. His journalistic instinct prompts him to carry on a parallel probe. However, the investigations lead the friends to new array of incidents that turned their lives upside down. Prithviraj portrays Sreeramakrishnan’s role while Sasikumar is Milan Paul. Produced by B Sarathchandran under the banner of Sincere Cinema, the movie will have Mukesh, Biju Menon, Jagathy, Siddique, Shammy Thilakan, Anil Murali, Sadique, Vijaya Raghavan and Salimkumar in notable roles. Piya Bajpayee and Ananya will play the female leads. Madhu Neelakandan handles the camera. Gopi Sundar renders music to the lyrics penned by Shibu Chakravarthy. ‘Masters’ is slated for a Christmas release.
