Nandini Rai, the bubbly Telugu actor who is making her Mollywood debut with ‘Goodbye December’, is not just smitten by the sights and sounds of Kerala. “I have a crush on Asif Ali. I just so like him....his gestures, acting skills and most of all his childish face,” she blushes. She says it was her infatuation for the actor that made her watch ‘Salt N’ Pepper’ and ‘Ritu’ a couple of times.
Nandini Rai alias Neelam Ghourani is a known face in Telugu and Hindi industries.
She entered tinselville playing the lead lady in Telugu film ‘Family Pack’, in 2011. Other than notable films like ‘040’ and ‘Hormones’ in Telugu, she also has Hindi movie ‘Login’ opposite Himanshu Bhatt to her credit. The doe-eyed beauty is all excited about her Mollywood entry as she believes Malayalam movies offer more scope for the talented. “The industry gives equal importance to heroines,” she says.
In the film she plays a teacher, something in the lines of Sushmitha’s sultry chemistry lecturer in ‘Main Hoon Naa’. “This movie is going to be a musical love story with lovely songs like ‘Madi Madi’ and so on,” she adds.
In 2008 Nandini was titled ‘Miss Andhra Pradesh’ and later as ‘Miss Hyderabad- Pantaloon Fresh Face’.
People who come to Kerala love the place for its scenic beauty and food and Nandini is no exception. “This is my second visit to Kerala. It is indeed God’s own country, the people here are kind-hearted and friendly.
I relish Kerala’s coconut dish ‘puttu’ which we don’t normally get in Hyderabad,” she says.
