KOZHIKODE: Actor Jagathy Sreekumar was seriously injured in a road accident at Panambra near the Calicut University at Thenhipalam in Malappuram district in the wee hours of Saturday. The Innova car in which Jagathy was travelling rammed into a divider at Panambra on National Highway 17 around 4.45 am.
He and his driver PP Sunilkumar, a native of Perumbavoor, were brought to the hospital in an ambulance from the accident spot just after the incident. The medical staff in it gave first aid to both of them. Jagathy fell unconscious on the way to the hospital.
“His condition has improved,” said Dr P P Venugopal, senior consultant and Head of the Department of Emergency Medicine of the Malabar Institute of Medical Sciences Hospital where he is undergoing treatment. Condition of Sunilkumar, who also suffered injuries is serious, hospital authorities added.
