They rocked together in ‘Da Tadiya’ and now the funny duo is back. Sreenath Bhasi and Sekhar Menon are all set to woo the audience once again, this time through an out-and-out entertainer titled ‘Beware of Dogs’. Vishnu Prasad, who is debuting as a director through the film, says it will be a total laugh riot. “The film is about a crop of youngsters whose attitude towards life is light and simple. They never go for the prim-and-proper behaviour and find some fun in almost every situation,” he adds.

Totally in tune with the mood of the film, the dogs in the title are not real dogs but humans. Dogs stand for Dominic, Omanakuttan, Gautam and Sunny, the four lead characters played by Wilson, Shekhar Menon, Sanju and Sreenath Bhasi.

The foursome are tenants of Thulaseedharan Pillai, a retired headmaster. “Pillai has a young daughter so he doesn’t want any bachelors around his premises. He rents the upper floor to a family but they move out leaving behind the husband’s nephew. He decides to stay there and then brings in some friends to share the rent. Pillai tries his level best to get rid of them, but to no avail,” says the director. While Sunil Sugada plays Pillai, Abhirami Suresh appears as his daughter.

Pillai compares the four friends with different breeds of dogs. “He says Dominic is like rottweiler who spends all his time thinking. He compares Omanakuttan to bull dog and Gautam to doberman. Sunny is a perfume maniac and judges a girl by the scent she uses. Pillai says he is like an expert police dog,” says Vishnu. During their stay in Pillai’s house they land in trouble and decide to stay away for a while. “They go to Oommen, a friend at Pondicherry and end up in bigger troubles. The film  follows the four as the move from one issue to another,” he says.

One highlight of the film is definitely the coming together of Sreenath Bhasi and Shekhar Menon. “But their characters are entirely different from ‘Da Thadiya’. In the film all the hilarity springs from their peculiar natures,” says the director. The film will also mark the Mollywood debut of ‘Vaanam’ star Jasmine Bhasin who plays the heroine. While Manoj K Jayan plays a full-length comic character in the film ‘Neram’ fame Bobby Simha also appears in a key role. The film has its music by Bijibal and background score by Jecin George. “We have tried a different kind of music for the film. Normally comedies don’t go for this type of instrumentation, but it has come out really well. Then Billa Jagan Master has handled the action part and the film features a special sequence shot with ten cameras,” he adds.

Produced by Rajeev Menon under the banner of Orison Creations, the film is expected to hit the screens shortly.
