She was last seen in Face to Face and then the pretty actress went missing for a while. Roma Asrani, who has been part of a number of hits, is all set to make a comeback. She will be playing the lead in Namaste Bali, a female-oriented subject to be directed by debutant Bijoy. “I have read a couple of things about the film in media saying it’s an investigative thriller. But Namaste Bali is nothing like that. It’s a complete family entertainer and I am really excited about the film.

It’s basically a fun movie and nothing more can be revealed about it right now,” she says.

Roma says she took a short break from films to pursue her other passions.

“I did a lot of travelling and stage programmes. I was busy with a couple of dance shows that were staged across the globe.” The actress says she was impressed by the script of Namaste Bali which also stars Aju Varghese and Manoj K Jayan in key roles. “Though acting is my first love, after a stage I decided to take up quality projects only. I wanted films where the heroine has something to do. During the last two years a lot of films came my way, but I was not happy with the characters offered to me. I feel it’s better to wait for a solid role rather than going for irrelevant ones in big films. I don’t believe in numbers and I never went on a signing spree in my entire career.”

The actress says as of now she has not signed any other project.

“I don’t want to be part of ten movies a year,” she says. I am looking forward to characters that will make the audience remember me for a long time and that’s my only criteria in taking up films. Namaste Bali has me playing an awesome character and that’s the only reason I signed it,” she adds.
