Are you game for some high-voltage action sequence from Anusree? Yes, the  beautiful and petite actress will do some adrenalin-pumping sequence in her   next release ‘Ithihasa’ that will hit the theatres this Friday.

Anusree, who debuted in ‘Diamond Necklace’ handling comedy with ease, says her character Janaki in the movie is something that moulded the actor in her.

“In the movie I play Janaki, a docile and sweet girl in the first part, and someone with masculine traits in the second. There is a fantasy element in the story that justifies the character change,” says Anusree.

‘Ithihasa’, directed by Binu Kalady, tells the story of a magical ring and  subsequent events that unfold when two people wear it. The jinxed ring unleashes its magical powers when Janaki and Albi unknowingly wears it. Janaki starts to behave like Albi and Albi suddenly has the mannerisms and body language of the shy Janaki. Shine Tom Chacko will play Albi, the lead.

The movie is about how Janaki and Albi get together, fall in love and then embarks on a mission to get the damage reversed.

Anusree says Ithihasa tested the actor in her. “The fight sequences were shot in three days. It was gruelling and I had to perform rope techniques. But, all the pain and efforts were worth it when I saw the edited version,” she says and adds that all the credit, however, goes to action choreographer Run Ravi.

“I think besides Vani Viswanath, no many has done action scenes onscreen, atleast in the near future. So when Binu approached me with the role, I was naturally thrilled to do something extraordinary,” says Anusree.

Besides, ‘Ithihasa’ will also see Anusree in a quirky attire wearing lungi, smoking and trying to pick pockets. “Janaki just undergoes a sea change. In her body is this carefree lad who earns bucks through pickpocket. But, those around her are unaware of all the mess and finds it odd that Janaki hangs around with Viki, Albi’s friend,” says Anusree.

So, did she take lessons for everything right from flicking a cigarette to draping a lungi? “Oh, I had to learn how to smoke like a smoker. I took tips from the crew members. It was hard in the beginning and I was coughing the whole time. But, now I am a skilled smoker,” says Anusree, with a full-hearted laugh.

Anusree, who is awaiting the release of ‘Seconds’, directed by Aneesh Upasana, says she hasn’t signed anything new now. “All I want is to do diverse characters. So far, I have not got anything with substantial screen space. ‘Ithihasa’ will be a change,” says Anusree.
