THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Director M A Nishad has started the work of his next movie Kinar. It will handle the very significant issue of water scarcity. “Kinar is a symbolic representation of the water shortage we face today,” he says, adding that his project is not an offbeat venture, but  a realistic one.
The highlight is that it has senior actors, Jaya Prada and  Revathy in lead roles.

“When I narrated the script, both were very excited to be part of the film. While Jaya Prada plays the role of a housewife, Revathy  plays the Thirunelveli Collector. Since the film is female-oriented, we needed talented actors,” he says. The movie is set on the Kerala-Tamil Nadu border. It also stars Tamil actor  Pashupathi, who plays Shaktivel, a panchayat president.

Besides, the film also has Archana, Indrans, Joy Mathew and Bhagat Manuel in prominent roles. Kinar is likely to hit the screens in August.
