CHENNAI: Composer Shaan Rahman has said the latest viral sensation "Jimikki Kammal" is the most viewed Malayalam song on Youtube with over 30 million views in just 49 days, making it the fastest track to reach the milestone.

The song is from Mohanlal-starrer "Velipadinte Pusthakam".

"Jimikki Kammal has become the most viewed Malayalam Song on YouTube. We've created history in just under a couple of months,... We owe this success to each and everyone out there," Shaan posted on his Facebook page on Saturday.

He thanked all those who embraced the song and danced to it.

"Mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters and friends who danced to "Jimikki" and accepted the song with open arms (and heart). We love you all. Thank you," he added.

Ever since the song came out, the peppy track has had several cover versions.

There was even a college cover version of the song which went viral. This version made the college's commerce professor Sheril an overnight celebrity.

In another version, which was released last month by the makers, Mohanlal is seen shaking a leg to the peppy number.
