IF Feather Touch Entertainments, the makers of 'Malai Malai', wanted to promote their film in a novel way, they couldn't have thought of anything better. Instead of having a grand launch puja or an even grander invitation spending thousands of rupees, the producer Dr NS Mohan, decided to make the film memorable throughout the year.
So what better way than to launch a calendar with the stills of the movie, cast and crew right from January to December 2009? "A calendar is more useful," averred the first time producer Mohan at the grand party to launch the calendar. "At least if you don't use it, your driver or someone else can. Its better than spending money on huge and costly film invitations that are ultimately forgotten."
For the hero Arun Vijay, it's good news indeed that his film has gotten under way at last. The actor has trained hard physically to suit his role and undergone a makeover of sorts as the stills show. The calendar was launched by his father-in-law Dr Mohan along with veterans Vaali and Abirami Ramanathan, who graced the occasion along with the crew member Mani Sharma, director A Venkatesh, actor Vijaykumar and heroine of the film Vedhika. The film also stars Prabhu and Prakash Raj and has some songs shot in Langkawi as well. Now let’s see if the novelty of the calendar launch rubs off in the making of the film as well!
