HYDERABAD: At long last, tinsel town’s obsession with size zero seems to be over. Kareena Kapoor's anorexic appearance in some of her recent films has been given a safe bypass with Anushka's sculpted avatar in Billa. One can argue that southie heroines were never in the size zero race but Anushka’s latest look can give many actresses a run for their money. It is healthy and wholesome and what’s better is that there's no liposuction involved.
The actress whose film Billa co-starring Prabhas released on Friday, says she is kicked about all the attention she is getting. “This is my look for Billa. I have really worked hard on my body,” says the actress.
The credit for Anushka’s slimmer persona goes to her old friend Prabhas. It was the actor's trainer Ishwar who introduced Anushka to a new fitness regimen which included workouts at the gym and yoga.
Sweety Shetty, better known as Anushka, is among the top heroines in Tollywood today following Arundhati’s stupendous success. “I have always worked hard and that is my motto,” says Anushka.
But Billa is topmost on her mind now. “I am sure Billa will be a landmark film. It is racy, stylish and entertaining,” she smiles.
Talking about rumours that she agreed to appear in a two-piece bikini for a whopping sum of Rs 1.5 crore, she says, I don’t know from where you people get such information. Just tell me the name or source and I will charge the balance from him,” And goes on to add, “I only demand what I am worth.’’ Anushka who appears to strike an ideal balance between glamour and simplicity says any artiste with an intense heart for performance is never bereft of opportunities.
When asked about her chemistry with Prabhas, Anushka plays safe. “He is a gentleman and absolutely professional. Our pairing on screen is simply superb,” she notes. Though flooded with several offers post- Arundhati, Anushka says she always goes by the script.
The svelte actress is currently shooting for Varudu with Mahesh Babu.
Will Anushka continue to be the lucky charm in the ever superstitious Telugu film industry? The pronouncements on Billa ought to be out today.
