Director Tarun Gopi spoke his heart out at an audio launch of 'Thottupaar' held recently. “A few people commented about my face and they wondered whether I would succeed in Kollywood. Nowadays, script matters more than the face,” said Tarun Gopi, who acts in Jeeva Poonga and Kaatu Paya. Namitha thanked music director Srikanth Deva for giving her hit numbers like Arjuna Arjuna and Bampara Kannalae.

A former assistant with Perarasu and Priyadarshan, Nandu directs the film, which has newcomers Vidyarth and Lakshana. Simbhu has sung a number and the highlight of the film is the remix of Aadi Maasam (choreographed by Gayathri Raghuram) from the Rajinistarrer Paayum Puli. The audio was launched by State Information Minister Parithi Ilamvazhuthi. Music by Srikanth Deva, those attended the launch include actors Prasanna, Kasthuri, and director Perarasu among others.
