CHENNAI: ‘Siruthai’ is going to be a very special film for Karthi. None of the actors has played dual roles so early in their careers.
Karthi will play the roles of a pickpocket named ‘Rocket’ Raja and of an IPS officer Rathinavel Pandian.
The film revolves around a petty thief in Chennai who, along with his friend Pattu Poochi (Santhanam), commits small thefts. He is shocked when a little girl claims that he is her father. He later realizes that he looks just like Rathinavel Pandian, who has been the savior of innocent villagers of Devipatnam, but with an incomplete mission of ending the reign of the villains.
Now the two protagonists swear to complete the task.
The film has musical score by Vidhyasagar and four lyric writers- Na. Muthukumar, Pa. Vijay, Vivega and Arivumathi - have penned songs. Cinematographer-turned-filmmaker Shiva, of ‘Shouryam’ and ‘Shankam’ fame, makes his debut directorial in Kollywood with this movie.
