“IT’S my dream film,” exclaimed Karthi at the audio launch of Siruthai, directed by Siva.
Karthi plays a double role in the film.
“The two characters are direct opposites of each other — one is a police officer and other, a thief. I had to put in a lot of effort for the role of the police officer as I was very particular that no where should I resemble Suriya’s look in Kakha Kakha or Singam,” he said.
Karthi’s brother Suriya lauded the efforts that his brother took to portray the role of a cop. “Tamannah is a very dedicated actress,” added Suriya and informed that a top Hindi actor would perform Ravi Teja’s role in the Hindi remake of Vikramarkudu. Director Lingusamy said that he would love to write a script for a film starring both Suriya and Karthi and that Gautham Menon should direct it. Siruthai is a remake of Vikramarkudu, starring Ravi Teja. Karthi had saved Ravi Teja’s picture on his mobile to get the former’s look and to match his acting in Siruthai. Produced by Studio Green, Vidyasagar has scored the music.
Launching the trailer of the film, Gautham Menon said he knew the way that Suriya travelled to stardom and that he laid the smooth way for his brother. The heroine of the film Tamannah was all smiles and said the team was a great one to work with.
Directors Rajesh, Prabhu Solomon, actor Parthiban and producer Gnanavel Raja also spoke on the occasion.
