CHENNAI: For 'Aravaan', a film based on the life of a south Indian in the 18th century, producer T Shiva has erected an ancient village set worth Rs 80 lakh.
The location near Madurai Melur called the Arittapatti Hills is claimed to be an unexplored and unencroached area with caves, streams and huge valleys. Art director Vijay Murugan has erected 100 huts with bamboo straws, palm leaves and stones.
A huge Karuppan Kovil and a Manthai known as Somberi Madam were also erected.
The film stars Aadhi, Pasupathi, Malayalam actress Archana Kavi, Thanshika and Karigalan. About 500 junior artistes have also been roped in for the film.
