Friends don’t fail. Here’s yet another story that stands testimony to this fact.
Director Vetrimaaran will be penning the dialogues for a movie that is to be directed by his assistant and friend Prithvi Rajkumar. Says the director, “Vetrimaaran and I are good friends. In fact, he gave the credit for the screenplay of Aadukalam to me and three others in the team. I showed him the script of my film, Naan Rajavaga Pogiren and he liked the script so much that he came forward to write the dialogues for it.”
Prithvi, who has worked with director Vetrimaaran in movies like Polladhavan and Aadukalam, is making his debut as a director with Naan Rajavaga Pogiren. While the title may give one the impression that the film is likely to be a period flick, the director says it is not. “It’s a story that is set in the present era, and covers all major cities in the country. It’s too early to talk about the film,” he says.
However, he is more forthcoming when asked about the crew. He says, “Actor Nakul is to play the lead in the film. Gujarat-based theatre artiste Avani Modi and Siddhu Plus 2-fame Sandhini play the female leads in the movie. GV Prakash is scoring the music for the film. Already, one song has been composed.”
The director says he found actor Nakul suitable for his script after watching Kadhalil Vizhunden. “We should have started the project soon after Kadhalil Vizhundaen, but then, had to unfortunately shelve it for some time due to issues,” he informs.
Prithvi and actor Vishal have worked as assistant directors with actor Arjun in Ezhumalai and later, Prithvi worked in Vishal’s Thimiru.
