Apparently Prachi Desai has no time for our Tamil directors.

The svelte beauty was approached by actor Arun Vijay and director Magizh Thirumeni to cast in ‘Thadayara Thakka’. But she didn’t turn up for shooting and instead signed a Hindi film. “Once the script was ready, we narrated it to Prachi. She was convinced with the script and gave us the dates. The shooting went on fl oors on March 7, but she didn’t turn up for the shooting. Later, when she came to Chennai, she was not interested to act and left for Bombay saying her father was unwell. But we were informed that she has signed a Hindi film,” informs Arun Vijay and adds, “Whatever she has done is unprofessional. She was roped in for a huge amount. But she was not able to give us the dates.”

After all the confusion, the crew has decided to replace Prachi with Mamta Mohandas, who was last seen in ‘Guru Yen Aalu’. In fact Mamta was Arun Vijay’s first choice even before signing Prachi Desai. “We were told that Mamta is not doing Tamil films and that she was busy with Malayalam so we zeroed in on Prachi. Now after a lot of confusion, we thought we could get back to her,” informs Arun.

Apart from Mamta Mohandas, Rakul Preet Singh of Femina Miss India fame will also play a pivotal role. The shooting with Mamta will start on Monday. “We hope that we could complete the film by the end of August and release it by September,” says Arun Vijay.
