Even an hour’s delay did not stop fans from catching a glimpse of the ‘Mayakkam Enna’ (ME) actress Richa Gangopadhyay, who turned up to participate in the celebrations of the third anniversary of Blur at the Sathyam Cinemas. The celebrations which began on November 20 went on till the 27th.
On the final day, Richa Gangopadhyay distributed prizes to the winners of all the events held during the celebrations. Dressed to kill, the actress was overwhelmed by the appreciation from her fans who were excited to take pictures with her.
Said the actress, “This is the first time I’m coming to Blur and I already love the place. I’m a gamer. So, I love to play video games. It’s actually a nice feeling to be here as the ambience is lively and kind of tempting.”
Commenting on the success of her film, she said, “For me, ‘Mayakkam Enna’ is a landmark film and I have been getting a lot of positive feedback. I’m thankful to Selva sir and his team for bringing out the talent in me.”
Apparently, the actress was shooting for ‘Mayakkam Enna’ and ‘Osthi’ simultaneously. Now that the former has brought her rave reviews, what does she think about her next release?
“In ‘Osthi’, I play the role of a rustic village belle. It’s in sharp contrast to the role I played in ME. The character is similar to Sonakshi Sinha’s role in ‘Dabangg’. In fact, I had to gain some weight for ‘Osthi’. I had to shoot for both films back-to-back and it was hectic. However, I'm on cloud nine as ME has scored at the box office,” she smiled.
Richa, who has been busy giving interviews after the release of ME is now awaiting the release of ‘Osthi’.
So, what’s her role all about?
“‘Osthi’ and ME are completely different from each other. ‘Osthi’ is a fun and fast-paced film, while ME is a very intense subject. In ‘Osthi’, you will see me dancing and singing along with Simbu and it’s a commercial film."
