Actress Nisha Aggarwal, who is Kajal Aggarwal’s younger sister in the film industry, is now making her foray into Kollywood. She plays the female lead in the Vimal-starrer Ishtam, which is a remake of the Telugu film Emaindi Ee Vela (2010).

Nisha says, “My performance got me positive reviews and therefore, I got the opportunity to do the female lead in the Tamil version also.” Though the storyline of the film will remain the same, a few changes have been incorporated to suit the taste of the Tamil audiences.

Elaborating on this, Nisha says, “The climax has been altered. The backdrop is Chennai. The cinematographer is Shekhar Joseph, and my co-star is Vimal. Though I had a language problem, it was a great experience working with them. Vimal is very hard-working.”

Most of the talkie portions of the film are over, and only the song sequences are yet to be shot. The crew is working on a song sequence, choreographed by Kalyan master.”

Now, she is shooting for her second film in Telugu, Solo, with Nara Rohit.

The actress discloses that she is all set to dub in her own voice. “I wish to dub for Solo and when I do my second Tamil film, I will try to dub in Tamil as well,” she says. “Language is not a barrier for an actor” she adds.

Now that both sisters are in the same field, what is her take on comparisons and competition? “Comparison is bound to happen and competition is a must. Just the way how Karishma and Kareena Kapoor were compared and so are all siblings in the industry.” The sisters bond so well that Nisha  has even accompanied Kajal to her movie sets often. She has watched her sister act.

“Kajal doesn’t interfere with my work but occasionally gives advice. I believe that if a suggestion or feedback is positive then one must take it in one’s stride. If it is negative and one gets affected, then one must not think about it at all. According to me, take the positives and keep growing. I am taking one thing at a time with regard to my career,” she says.

Nisha, as a personality, is adventurous as she describes, “I have a bucket list of must-do things in life, of which acting was a part. It  is now a reality. I used to have sky-diving, scuba-diving, bungee-jumping, to pose for a magazine, to be part of a talk show and more as part of the to-do activities on the list. I have realised that most of my dreams have been fulfilled, except for bungee-jumping. That too, it is because I am a little scared. However, someday, I will give it a shot,” says the actress.
