CHENNAI: Most of the Telugu remakes of Siddharth’s movies are a big hit in Chennai. But the actor did not welcome any of the Tamil movie offerings since ‘Ayudha Ezhuthu’. However, after a seven-year break, Chennai boy chimes his comeback to the Tamil film Industry with ‘180’. The movie was introduced to the media on Thursday at Sathyam Cinemas, where Siddharth shared his joy about his return.

“I’m really happy to be back in Chennai and Kollywood. It took me seven years to find an interesting script and that was one of the reason for my disappearance,” he said and added, “There is also a misconception that I will work with only big directors, which is not true. I didn’t even meet director Shankar sir or Mani (Ratnam) sir for a long time Moreover, I’ve introduced eight new directors in Telugu and with Jayendra, it is nine.”

In the new Tamil movie, '180', which is directed by debut Jayendra, he pairs up with Priya Anand and Nithya Menon. “It goes beyond the usual love stories that we’ve seen so far and the movie has come out good. Jayendra knows me from my childhood and has directed number of advertisements. I learnt the art of movies from him and I’m happy to act in his debut movie,” he said.

The story and screenplay have been written by Suresh and Bala, the duo writers popularly known as Subha and the entire movie has been shot in the Red Camera. Sharreth who hails from Mollywood has scored music and the audio release will be on April 14.
