A superhero, an embodiment of evil, a love angle and exchange of natural powers, this is director Mysskin's Mugamoodi.

At half past nine at night, when most of the city was perhaps glued to Television sets, it was shoot time for the Mugamoodi crew. Being one of his many dream projects, director Mysskin promises to retain his style of filming in his forthcoming fantasy film Mugamoodi too. “I’m told that the leg shot is popular in all my films. In this film too, there are some Mysskin elements, but I have brought out tout-thrilling moments here in this film.”

Inspired by Tim Burton’s films, Mysskin tells us that he has etched out the first-ever superhero film with a controlled use of Computer Graphics (CG). “I’m here to make a feature film that showcases non-reality as reality. However, the use of CG has always overshadowed many  important factors of Tamil films. In Mugamoodi, I have used CG that doesn’t dominate my film,” he says.

A flick that he had always wanted to direct, the script was in cold storage for a few years, as he wanted to start shooting this movie only after he completed Yudham Sei.

Mugamoodi is a much-awaited dream project for the director. For, he  claims to have written this script with ultimate passion for an unknown superhero. “See, I’m creating a dream on celluloid. So when I write a story, it is never that the script is tailor-made for a particular actor. This superhero is a product of my imagination and while casting,  we zeroed in on Jiiva, a leading actor who has not tried such a film so far,” says the Yudham Sei director.

As a superhero who possesses natural powers and is skilled in martial arts, Jiiva will not exhibit any magical powers, emphasises Mysskin.

“Taking into consideration that I am making an Indian film, I can’t showcase something that is impossible. I want my audience to accept my films and not make a joke of it. This is real cinema and I have shown what any superhero can exhibit in his zone,” he says.

With that, Mysskin says his antagonist, Narain, is a character to look-out for.
