Tanvi Vyas, who made her acting debut with Eppadi Manasukul Vandhaai (EMV) — which released recently, was the winner of the Miss India Earth pageant in 2008.
Ask Tanvi why it took four years to foray into filmdom, and she says, “I started concentrating on international pageants in 2009 and I signed Eppadi Manasukul Vandhaai in the beginning of 2010 after returning to India.”
It has been a learning experience for the model-turned-actor, as she has been part of the project for about two years and experienced firsthand the ups-and-downs of the film crew.
Tanvi says she started her career in Tamil to keep with the trend of going places from here. “I have heard a lot about the Tamil film industry and I know that some of the big actors have emerged from here,” she says. However, Tanvi hadn’t visited Chennai until she had to shoot for EMV.
Tanvi played a fashion technology student in the movie and says her role would make every guy fall for her.
Ask her how director P V Prasath zeroed in on her, and Tanvi says, “He has been telling that he wanted a girl who looks beautiful for the role. I hope he has said the truth,” smiles Tanvi.
Originally from Mumbai, Tanvi Vyas was into graphic designing before participating in fashion pageants. She is currently part of many non-film projects like judging beauty pageants and hosting TV shows.
