Actor Vivek, whose underplayed role in 'Uthamaputhiran' won accolades, seems to be persisting with the formula in his next movie, '10,000,00,00,000' (Pathayirmkodi) as well. The comedian, who plays a CBI officer in the movie, has fewer dialogues and more scope for performance.
Says director Muktha Sundar, “It’s a kind of James Bond spoof and Vivek has done a slapstick performance. There aren’t many dialogues in James Bond movies and we have attempted to bring in the same effect, in a funny way.” In fact, the director and the actor penned dialogues for comedy sequences and then discussed ways and means to do the same scenes without dialogues.
Pathayiramkodi is about how three college students loot jewels and money worth Rs 10,000,00,00,000 from a lady and later get chased by villains, cops (Vivek) and thugs employed by the lady. A newcomer Baljit Kaur plays the rich lady while Tharu and Nadal Shah, also new comers, play the lead pair.
“The movie’s story travels from Chennai to Mumbai via Mangalore and Goa. Forty per cent of the movie has been completed so far. We have planned for a May release,” informs Muktha Sundar.
