

Filmmaker and ace lensman Santosh Sivan, whose Urumi Pathinaiandam Nootraandu Uraivaal is all set hit screens this month end, has begun work on his next project. His next directorial venture will be a film titled Ceylon, to be made in Tamil and English.
“Ceylon is be a moving tale set in Sri Lanka,” is all the filmmaker reveals about his project. The movie is said to be based on the ethnic crisis in the island country, and casting is yet to be undertaken.
It may be recalled that Sivan had earlier directed a film inspired by a real person in The Terrorist. The acclaimed movie was based on the life of a suicide bomber and was inspired by Dhanu, who was involved in the assassination of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.
Even his multilingual Urumi, the filmmaker attemped fiction in a historical setting, showing an imaginary plan to assassinate Portugese explorer Vasco Da Gama. Sivan is currently wrapping up shoot for Vijay starrer Thuppakki. The film is set in Mumbai, and several scenes have been shot using hidden cameras, the cameraman says.
