Ramesh Aravind minus Kamal Haasan

The Kannada superstar is now back in Kollywood for a comedy film, this time without the company of the Ulaga Nayagan.

Ramesh Aravind is not new to Tamil industry. His last few films along with Kamal Haasan have been box office hits. But this time, he has chosen to be part of a Kollywood project without Kamal. He’ll be working with Vivek and Karunas in a film, titled ‘Machan’. “‘Machan’ is a ‘total comedy’ film directed by Sakthi Chidambaram,” says Ramesh.

The actor, whose most films are with Kamal will now be working outside his banner. “Comedy actor, Vivek and I were introduced to the Tamil industry at the same time by K Balchandar. Today, he went on to become famous in Kollywood, while I concentrated in Kannada. We are still good friends. I can rekindle my old days with him by doing this film. Secondly, the package was good. I’m glad to be working with a reputed director and Karunas is known for his comedy act. All these drove me towards working on this project.”

Ramesh Aravind dons a stylish look in this film. “I’m paired opposite Sheryl Pinto, who is also known as Namitha 2 in Tamil industry,” says the actor, who loves to be a part of good comedy. “I’m open to any language. But sometimes, what we think is a joke might not be that humorous for the audience. If our sense of humour matches theirs, only then the film will be a total entertainment,” he explains.

Back in Kannada, Ramesh is currently shooting for ‘Tunturu’. “I am also working on another film, ‘Maaya’, where I play the role of a person who is possessed by a ghost,” he says. The actor, who always has his hands full, was recently in Dubai along with few other actors for a starry event. “I love to have too many things on my plate. I am busy writing a script and a TV show. Soon I’ll be announcing another project. But this time it is not on television. I will talk about it as and when I sign,” he tells us.
