Actor Vimal seems to be amongst the busiest of the young crop of actors in K Town these days. He is busy with the promotions of Desingu Raja which is releasing this week, but also finds the time to shoot for his upcoming films. He seems to be one youngster who is slowly but steadily carrying on with his work, not letting  the super success of Kedi Billa Killadi Ranga affect him in any way.  Speaking to CE, Vimal lists out his films which include Rendavathu Padam, Jannal Oram and Manja Pai. The latest in his kitty are Pulivaal and Nee Yella  Nalla Varuve Da where he shares the screen with Samudrakani.

He recalls his role in Desingu Raja with a grin, “I play Idayakanni, a youngster who solves the problems of villagers. He gets into so many spats that noone wants to give their daughter in marriage to him. Then, he falls in love with the daughter from a family that has a generations old feud with his people. It’s a complete laugh riot and there are many comedians like Soori, Singampuli, Singamuthu and others.”

Vimal has done a realistic fight sequence choreographed by Dilip Subbrayan and he quips, “It’s not a stunt with fancy cars, guns or bombs. It’s just a forest fight where I take on many goons. In fact, due to the giant propellers used to raise the leaves for special effects, I got sand and dust in my eyes and throat for three whole days!”

Ask him about co-star Bindu Madhavi and he is all praise, “She has no ego at all. She knows Tamil so it was easy to interact with her. I’ve never seen her refusing to do anything required for a scene. She is extremely co-operative and easy going and talks to everyone.”

Talking about Amudhan’s Rendavathu Padam, Vimal reveals, “It was fun working with him. The mood is light and jovial and Amudhan gets the work done in a jolly manner.” Currently shooting in Salem for Pulivaal, Vimal discloses he plays a poor boy as opposed to Prasanna who plays a rich man. Vimal is gearing up for yet another film, to be directed by Susi Ganesan’s assistant Nagendran, the pooja of which will be held on August 26. With so much on his plate, its more hectic days ahead for this actor.
