'Puli Vaal' not exactly a remake

After a successful debut venture in Tamil with Chennaieil Oru Naal, a remake of Malayalam flick Traffic, Magic Frames is now ready with his second flick, Puli Vaal. Jointly produced by Radhika Sarathkumar and Listin Stephen, their latest film was also earlier reported to be a remake of another Malayalam flick, Chappa Kurishu.

However, now it doesn’t appear to be so. “How a rich person and someone who doesn’t have money at all are drawn into a particular issue and how they handle their situations is what Puli Vaal is about. Except that part, the Tamil version has been entirely developed by director G Marimuthu himself and the difference can be seen on screen,” said Sarathkumar, who is also part of Magic Frames. Since Listen had produced Chappa Kurishu in Malayalam, there won’t be any copyright issues, added Sarathkumar.

While Chappa Kurishu was a thriller, Puli Vaal is expected to be a comedy caper.

The film has a huge star cast with actors Prasanna, Vimal, Iniya, Oviya and Ananya in lead roles, while actors Thambi Ramaiah and Soori have taken care of comedy. Neer Paravai fame Raghunandhan has scored music.
