Eros Music will foray into Tamil film industry with the release of Vijay-starrer Kaththi’s album on September 18. Eros Music is the music label of Eros International Media Limited (Eros), a leading global company in the Indian film entertainment industry.
The soundtrack of Kaththi consists of an eclectic mix of singers and six tracks — melodies to folk songs, with Vijay himself lending his voice to one of the tracks, Selfie pulla.
Soundarya Rajinikanth, director-creative and head, Eros Digital for South India, said, “We are excited to associate with the Kaththi team to release its music. This move marks Eros’ debut in the Tamil music market. What can be more auspicious than joining hands with the stalwarts of Tamil cinema – Murugadoss (director), Vijay sir and youth icon Anirudh (music director).”
With the announcement, in addition to owning music rights of its Bollywood lineup, Eros Music will retain, exploit and monetise the music rights of Kaththi across physical and digital formats.
The movie has Murugadoss and Vijay working together again after Thuppakki. Produced by Ayngaran International and Lyca Productions, Kaththi is scheduled to release on Deepavali.
