His debut flick Mosakutty may not have raked in the moolah at the box office, but actor Veera certainly has made a mark in his ruddy avatar. Veera, who starred in the flick directed by M Jeevan, says that he is glad that he got a dream launch.

“Since the time I aspired to be a film actor, I wanted a role that is powerful and makes a mark. Often, debut actors are cast in chocolate boy roles. In Tamil cinema, a village character is always memorable. In this movie, I had the chance to be both—ruddy and rustic,” he says.

Mosakutty , a drama  that also stars Mahima Nambiar, released in November and found support from actors like Simbu, who promoted the film on his Twitter page.

Veera says, “STR was kind enough to help in promoting the movie. The entire team had done a fabulous job; I only hope that the film had been promoted more. I was lauded for my performance and many told me that it was a mature portrayal. It is an indication that I did make the right choice. It has also been a great learning experience for me to refer to in future projects.”

While the self-confessed Ajith fan is looking at taking off from the favourable reviews for his performance, he is also looking forward to concentrating on both his identities—doctor and actor.

“I have been working at a private hospital. However, during the film, I couldn’t focus on work for a while. But I am keen on both and I would like it to give it my best shot. Ajith sir has been my inspiration. Without any film background, he has made it big in the industry. I wish to follow in his footsteps,” he adds.
