Tamil Actor to Star in 10 Films in 2015

Life couldn’t be better for young actor Kumki Ashwin. The son of ace producer  Swaminathan of Lakshmi Movie Makers fame, Ashwin, got selected for a role  in  Boss Engira Bhaskaran. The film was  a huge hit, making him a popular face  with one stroke.

With the success of  Kumki, he added the film’s title to his  name. Within four years he’s completed eleven films and has a whopping ten films on hand in 2015. “This is the hightest number of films for me, together in one year,” he agrees. What’s more, he’s doing more serious roles as well.

“I’ve been very lucky that my face has a good recall value. Before Kumki,  director Prabhu Solomon told me that my life would change completely after  the release and that’s exactly what has happened!  I’m now getting meatier  roles  along with the comic ones, and I couldn’t ask for more,” says Ashwin  happily.

He’s playing friend to a variety of young heros in the industry. In Appatakar he plays Jayam Ravi’s friend while in Jigna, he teams up with Vijay Vasanth. In Nee  Yella Nalla Varuve Da,  its with Vemal while in Kanithan  its with Atharva,  where his role turns serious in the second half.

Eetti again is with Atharva but  he had to put in effort and  learn  the sport of Shot Put,  for his role. In  Achcham Indri, Ashwin is going to a do a surprise character which he doesn’t  want to reveal right now. “Vijay Vasanth is the hero and I have scenes with  Samudrakani too,” says Ashwin.

In Jambulingam 3D Ashwin plays an event manager and had a whale of a time  shooting with Gokul and team in Japan. He’s also part of the horror film  Maharani Kottai and Naradhan with Nakul. Uchchathala Siva with Karan is part  of his kitty as well.

Amongst the busiest youngsters in the industry, Ashwin has only one aim, “I  want to  do every character role possible. My dad has been part of the

industry  for decades. I came into acting by chance. But now I want to see to it that I  keep up his good name and prove myself with my own efforts.” And what about negative roles? “Well I’ve not done negative shades so far.  But if it’s a challenging one,  I might go for it,” he signs off.
