The crew of Rekka, which has Vijay Sethupathi and Lakshmi Menon in lead roles, is in Bangkok to shoot a couple of important songs currently. We hear the songs will be shot over the course of next week.
“Lakshmi Menon and Vijay, along with the team, left for Bangkok and they are expected to return to Chennai post Independence Day,” sources say. Set against the backdrop of Kumbakonam and Madurai, this project marks the first time collaboration of Vijay and Lakshmi.
Touted to be a full-fledged commercial entertainer, we hear Vijay Sethupathi plays an advocate, who ends up kidnapping a girl due to certain circumstances! Rekka is directed by Rathina Shiva, (whose film Vaa Deal with Arun Vijay is yet to see the limelight) and also has Kishore, Kabir Duhan Singh (who was last seen in Ajith-starrer Vedalam), and Harish Uthaman in important roles.
The film has music by D Imman. Ganesh, who bankrolled Vijay Sethupathi’s Orange Mittai, is producing this film. Meanwhile, Vijay Sethupathi has Aandavan Kattalai, Vada Chennai, Dharma Durai, an untitled flick with KV Anand, Kathuvaakula Rendu Kadhal, a sequel to Idharkuthane Aasaipattai Balakumara, Idam Porul Yaevel and Mellisai, among others, in his kitty.
Rekka will have K S Ravikumar playing Vijay Sethupathi’s dad and comedian Sathish in an important role.
