Music director Imman D, who has composed music for over 65 Tamil films, has created a track for Sandalwood for the first time with Kotigobba 2.

The Sudeep-starrer is a bilingual, and is titled Mudinja Ivana Pudi in Tamil.

"I am glad director K S Ravi Kumar picked me for both languages," says an excited Imman.

The music director watched a couple of films and a few more songs featuring star Sudeep before he got down to making music for Kotigobba 2. "But I don't make music for a particular star. It restricts creative expression. For me, the director is the first audience and I go by his view and what the script demands," he says.

He and Ravi Kumar, he adds, had several discussions when he gave me the character design that helped me compose accordingly."

Getting the background score to match the Kannada as well as Tamil dialogues was a tough task.

"The scenes  for both films were shot parallelly, and every scene was enacted twice," he offers. "With varying length of words in the two languages, it was double work."

Imman says lyricist-writer Nagendra Prasad helped him out with the Kannada bits.

"He knows Tamil, so we could communicate easily," he says.

The audio for Kotigobba 2, produced by Surappa Babu, will be released by Anand Audio today.
