Chiru's son becomes 'Jagadeka Veerudu'

Plans are on to make a sequel to the 1990 blockbuster, search begins for 'Athiloka Sundari'

HYDERABAD : ‘Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari’ is one of the biggest hits of Chiranjeevi ’s career. The movie directed by renowned director Raghavendra Rao also starred Sridevi and Amrish Puri . A decade after the release of the Tollywood blockbuster, the makers of 'Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari' plan its sequel.

The movie which was released on May 9, 1990 became an instant hit as it was a mix of mythology with fantasy. The story basically revolved around a guide (played by Chiranjeevi) who is the care taker of four orphaned children and Indraja (portrayed by Sridevi) who is shown as Lord Indra’s daughter.

JVAS was subsequently dubbed in Tamil as ' Kaadhal Devathai' , in Hindi as ' Aadmi Aur Apsara ' and in Malayalam as 'Hai Sundari' . The movie received high accolade in states like Karnataka and Orissa.

Even the soundtrack of the movie given by prominent music director Ilayaraaja was highly appreciated.

Aswini Dutt , the producer of JVAS now plans a sequel to the original. The new movie would most likely star Ram Charan Teja who is well known for his role in ‘Magadheera’ . The rest of the cast has not been disclosed yet.

JVAS 2 has been planned to release in the year 2011.
