Young director Santosh Srinivas the front-runner to helm the Powerstar in Telugu remake of Tamil hit Vedalam.
Even as he gears up for a sensational return to the silver screen with upcoming cop-drama Sardaar Gabbar Singh, Powerstar Pawan Kalyan has already zeroed in on his next project. According to well-placed sources, the actor-politician will be featuring in the remake of Tamil hit Vedalam.
Earlier, speculation was rife that the Powerstar would team up with Khushi director SJ Surya for the film but it now seems like Santosh Srinivas (of Kandireega fame) has emerged as the top candidate to direct the film.
"Pawan Kalyan has decided that the Telugu remake of Vedalam will be his next project and after a lot of deliberations, it has been decided that Santosh Srinivas will be helm the project," revealed a source close to the actor.
Pawan's Sardaar Gabbar Singh co-star Rai Laxmi also let the cat out of the bag about the project when she tweeted, "Like I said earlier that #pspk #thala have lot of things in common! Here u go now I hear his remaking #vedalam in Telugu (sic)." An official confirmation is awaited.
