Actor Nidhhi Agerwal is gung-ho about her debut Telugu film Savyasaachi, in which she plays the leading lady opposite Naga Chaitanya. “I’m playing an independent girl and my character helps the story to take an unexpected turn. The film is replete with special effects, but my character has been significant. I could relate to the character as I am a bold girl in real life too. I’m hoping that Savyasachi is going to be a perfect launch pad for me in Telugu,” says Niddhi.

Directed by Chandoo Mondeti, the film also starring R Madhavan, Bhumika Chawla Thakur, Vennela Kishore and Satya draws its plot from the Vanishing Twin Syndrome, in which one of the twins disappears in the early stage of pregnancy and the disappeared fetal tissue is absorbed by the other twin. The Munna Michael actor reveals that she was surprised with the theme of the film. “I found the story unreal. I couldn’t believe that such syndrome exists. I was amazed when Chandoo sir explained about it. I’m glad that my role has been fleshed out well and I’m happy to choose Chandoo sir’s story as my debut film,” she recalls.

The actor is all praise for Telugu cinema. “I’ve learnt a lot from this film. Telugu film industry has been fantastic. Right from a technician to senior actors, people have been really helpful, warm and supportive,” shares Niddhi.

She was thrilled to share screen space with seasoned actors like Madhavan and Bhumika. “I’m fortunate to work with such experienced actors. They were always encouraging and supportive on sets to get the best output. Even my lead actor, Naga Chaitanya, coming from one of the illustrated families of the industry was down-to-earth and helpful on the sets. He is a man of positive energy. I take this opportunity to thank each one of them,” she explains.

The 25-year-old actor also lights up the screen with Mr Majnu featuring Akhil Akkineni in the lead and she seemed to enjoy working for both her Telugu films. “Savyasachi and Mr Majnu are really special to me. Both these films gave me different working experiences and help me understand Telugu cinema. It feels great to work with Chaitanya and Akhil around the same time. I’m looking forward to more work in Telugu cinema,” signs off Niddhi.
