10 best Game of Thrones episodes to binge-watch during lockdown

Admit it, we are not gonna get any more of the series that is rated among the greatest shows ever made. If time restraints stall you from rewatching the whole 'Game of Thrones' again, here are ten episodes handpicked to reignite your love for the Seven Kingdoms. Watch out summer children, major spoilers ahead.

#10 BLACKWATER (S2, E9): With an idiot on the throne and a dwarf as his 'Hand', what chance does King's Landing hold against Stannis Baratheon's invading forces? The show's first big onscreen war was violent but masterclass. Tyrion Lannister gets his famous scar as he takes a step or two, seemingly too big for his size, to safeguard the reign. #9 SPOILS OF WAR (S7, E4): An astounding pitched battle with Jamie and Daenerys leading the opposing sides lights up otherwise a disappointing season. The two rivals face off directly for the first time, and we get to see what Dany's combined force can do to enemies on the battlefield. #8 THE LAWS OF GODS AND MEN (S4, E6): Peter Dinklage couldn't win the Emmy because Jessy Pinkman (Science, b***h!) was equally good that year. The episode posses a courtroom scene that cemented a unique place in the history of television thanks to Peter's acting marvel. (Social media Photo)

On trial for regicide and betrayed by his love, Tyrion delivers a monologue 'confessing' ho he has been on trial all his life for being a dwarf. The slightly philosophical but passionate scene ends with Tyrion demanding a trial by combat to decide his destiny. (The way Oberyn leans forward as Tyrion makes the announcement is just wow.) #7 THE MOUNTAIN AND THE VIPER (S4, E8): The courtroom drama takes us here. By now, Tyrion is clearly central to the show and Gregor Clegane was evil that needed to be disposed at the earliest. So why shouldn't anyone cheer for the fearless and acrobatic Oberyn? (Social media Photo)

Again, this is GoT and being the nice guy only make it harder here. The viper got Gerogor pinned down but gets blinded by his vigour to make him confess of murdering his sister. The result - a very gruesome death in the hands of the giant and more heartbreak and shock for the fans. So much for, 'Today is not the day I die.' (YouTube screengrab)

#6 THE DOOR (S6, E5): Reunions, treachery, friendship... the show had it in all forms to fill up the viewers' eyes. But this one stands out due to sheer sympathy to a character as we experience it along with Bran. Summer the direwolf gets butchered before Hodor steps up and fulfils his destiny. #5 BAELOR (S1, E9): First big shock. Take-off point. GoT's ethos in a nutshell... For conventional drama fans, Lord Eddard Stark was supposed to break free of the prison chains, rescue his family and make everything right. But this show was from a different world altogether and taught us honour isn't a wise bannerman to choose if you're playing the game of thrones. (Social media Photo)

Ned Stark was an ideal man, someone you'd vouch for in the middle of everything happening at the capital. Joffrey gets the Warden of the North executed, initiating the conflict between the two big houses, which is to remain the crux of the series for a few more seasons before Khaleesi and Whitewalkers get their share of the limelight. #4 THE LION AND THE ROSE (S4, E2): In Westeros, people die and the story moves on. This is one reality that all GoT fans get accustomed to. Among all brutes and back-stabbers, the fall of none feels so satisfying like that of Joffrey Lannister's. We all wanted it bad and boy, what a way to make it happen! (YouTube screengrab)

The young king was at his sadistic best, insulting his uncle and his newlywed wife in public before the wine begins to choke him. Many of us enjoyed watching the spoiled brat suffer, maybe a side effect of falling for the cunning show. #3 THE WINDS OF WINTER (S6 E10)): This episode is so loaded that you wish if you didn't have to wink. The mystery surrounding Jon Snow's origin is finally revealed, as Bran takes another tour to the past. Dany sets sail to Westeros with a mighty fleet comprised of Ironborn, Tyrells, Sand Vipers, Unsullied and Dothraki. (Social media Photo)

However, Cersei steals the show yet again by wiping out all her contenders in the Citadel in a single blow. We are reintroduced to the wildfire as she blows up the High Sparrow and his Faith Militant along with Margaery, Loras and others. The subtle (yet chilling) music adds to the impact as her grand plan unfolds. Tommen ends his life and Cersei officially crowned the Queen while a similar coronation takes place in the North as well. #2 RAINS OF CASTAMERE (S3, E9): Rob Stark proves he's really Lord Ned's son and gets his pregnant wife, mother and scores of followers murdered. Arya witness the Freys killing Summer and stitching the animal's severed head to her brother's body. (Social media Photo)

Sad and brutal, the episode yet again turns the show's plot by ending the direct conflict between the Starks and Lannisters. #1 BATTLE OF BASTARDS (S6, E9): Often praised as the best episode in the history of television, Jon and Sansa's band of rebellious Lords and wildlings take on a largely superior army of Ramsay Bolton. We see the 'King in the North' literally drowning in a heap of bodies and struggling to breathe before the Knights of the Vale turn the tides. (Social media Photo)
