HYDERABAD: Enraged over a petty fight with his son, a labourer, who was in an inebriated condition smashed his son’s head with a crowbar, killing him. The police said that the father-son duo were heavily drunk when the incident took place.
According to RGIA inspector M Mahesh, the incident took place on Saturday night when A Krishna and his son Praveen (25), indulged in a verbal duel, followed by a fight.
“Krishna and Praveen, daily wage workers living Khajagalli village, consumed liquor heavily at a wine shop before going home late in the night. The duo engaged in a conversation, that led to a verbal duel and then into a fist fight.
Infuriated during the fight, Krishna took a crowbar in the house and hit with it on his son’s head. Death was instant for Praveen, who suffered severe bleeding injury,” said the inspector.
A case has been booked in the incident under Section 302 of IPC against Krishna, who initially claimed to be innocent, and alleged that unknown persons have killed his son. He has been taken into custody and investigation is on, said the inspector.
