After dist reorganisation, State sees spate of stirs

HYDERABAD: FIVE women from various villages under Chada revenue village in newly-created Yadadri district on Sunday scaled a cellphone tower, located at Buchireddygudem, on Sunday. Their demand was that  Their villages should be excluded from newly-formed Motakondur mandal.  According to them, several  Villages which are within the radius of 8 kms from Motakondur have not been included in the new mandal. But,  illages such as Chada, Nancharipet, Katapally, Kadirenigudem, Kondapuram, Muthireddygudem, Chandepally and Singaram, which are more than 15 kms away from Motakondur, have been.

Upa-Sarpanch of Muthireddygudemsaid all these villages were earlier part of Atmakur (M) mandal. Following a promise given by the local police that their demands would be looked into, the five women including Alivelu, called off the  stir after four hours. This follows the recent suicides of a woman and a man, over the creation of Gattuppal mandal in Nalgonda district and transfer of Nagireddypet mandal of Kamareddy district to Medak district.

Even though, the State government made it clear that it would not entertain any fresh requests either for  creation of new districts and mandals or for altering the contours of the revenue divisions and mandals,  protests have intensified. Protests have been continued in Narayanpet of Mahbubnagar district and Mulugu of  Prof Jayashankar district.
