Really, can I get a subsidy on my LPG?
Wow, you mean I can apply for a scholarship with these marks?
How cool, they will waive off this fee because I have the eligibility?
We often hear these around at work and college, but many of us seem to be aware of the government  schemes like scholarships, financial aids, grants and subsidies. We either too busy or the websites that inform us give too much information that we don’t bother to go beyond the first two lines. But EasyGov, a Noida-based Saas startup,an Aadhar-stack based cloud solution, says it can help citizens to access government schemes and services with ease.

Launched in May 2015 by Amit Shukla,  the website guides the citizens on the government welfare schemes for the people about which many are unaware of. Amit was in Hyderabad last week as part of the Global Entrepreneurship Summit in the city and spoke to City Express
“EasyGov is an ally between the government and the citizen which provides services like Income Tax Return, Police verification, Notary services, Grievances against government, PAN card, RTI, Aadhar, Passport, Voter ID cards and other government schemes and welfare policies.

We are hopeful, that we will be able to provide end to end solutions in conjunction with the Government at State and Central level shortly”, says Amit.EasyGov is free of cost of checking eligibility. Its vision is to help the economically backward communities by giving them access to technology and information that is most relevant for them to avail benefits from the various social welfare schemes and citizen-oriented services. Their target is to reach out to the economically backward. Each family is entitled to several benefits that can help them to overcome developmental issues by receiving basic services and facilities like health, education, food, housing and financial assistance for agriculture/ business.

Available as a website and an app, EasyGov is backed by Social Alpha, a division of Tata Trust, Rajan Anandan and NASSCOM 10K start up incubation programme. EasyGov has already implemented a part of the solution and has served over 10,000 customers in the Delhi-NCR region. They have plans to expand their services in North India. They also have a plan to implement local languages in EasyGov and expand its availability all over India and later in the world. “We hope to become a defacto interface for all government and citizen interaction,” says Amit.
