HYDERABAD: Director General of Police(DGP) Anurag Sharma, who is expected to retire by month end, is in all likeliness to continue as head of state police force till November this year.
The state government is learnt to have agreed to give extension to Sharma and sent a proposal to the Union Public Service Commission for its consideration.UPSC gave its nod for extending his service.
At present, there are three Director-General rank officers in the state apart from Sharma. A 1979-batch IPS officer Aruna M Bahuguna, Kode Durga Prasa, 1981 batch IPS officer, and 1983-batch IPS officer Tejdeep Kaur Menon.
The file of Departmental Promotional Committee (DPC) recommendations for promoting five Additional-DGP rank officers belonging to 1985 and 1986 batches to DG-rank is pending with the government.
