HYDERABAD: Growing ganja indoors as well as outdoors, involves a few simple steps. For another person (refused to be named) from Hyderabad, it was more of a chanced-upon experience.

“After a regular round of smoking up, I threw the seeds in a pot in my balcony. There was another plant in it and I used to water it. And one day I saw these tiny seedlings. They have grown to their full length now. However, I have not harvested them. I am not sure whether or not I will,” she says.

However, she also admits that a search on internet provided her with everything, right from planting to harvesting and curing of cannabis.

While the urban populace prefers growing the plant in the precincts of their houses, a trip to the outskirts of city reveals that several farmers have taken up mixed cultivation of cannabis with regular crops.

Raushan (name changed), who has been in Hyderabad for six years now, says lack of space does not permit him growing ganja indoors. “However, I prefer buying it from farmers from places outside the city. It comes cheap and is more pure compared to stuff available at places like Seetaphalmandi,” he adds.

The Internet lists, in just a few simple steps, ways in which to grow your own ganja, the essentials being, as with all plants, soil with proper pH levels, warmth, air and light, and about four months time.
