Suma sings,Suya dances

Arch rivals and TV anchors Suma and Anasuya drop their guard to star for a special song in Winner

HYDERABAD:Telugu TV lovers have always perceived top anchors Suma Kanakala and Anasuya Bharadwaj as arch rivals – as they both host primetime shows and compete with each other in hosting audio launches of Telugu movies. But this time around, the two drop their guards to become buddies and work for a song. An item song, to be precise! While Suma turned a playback singer for the first time, Anasuya danced to her tune for a special song for the upcoming movie Winner, starring Sai Dharam Teja and Rakul Preet Singh.

Both Anasuya and Suma said they were initially unaware of the fact that they were working together for one song. Only after the shooting and recording was over did they come to know that it was a complete anchors show, claim the two anchors.
Anasuya says that she accepted the offer to do the song as the song is  named after her (Suya Suya..Anasuya) and that she felt flattered and honoured to do it. Suma initially thought that it was a prank call asking her to sing a song and she avoided it, but then later when the music director of the movie SS Thaman insisted that she should give it a shot as he thought that her voice will suit the situation and lyrics of the song, she accepted it. Suma feels that solely because of her “base voice” she has been given this opportunity and she’s thankful to the music director for this offer and she confessed that she’s not planning to launch herself into singing. “I am an anchor by profession and I’ll stick to it,” she
clarified.
Winner will release on February 24 on the occasion of Mahashivaratri. Both Suma and Anasuya are keeping their fingers crossed to see how the audience would react to their respective performances.
