HYDERABAD: The Nampally court acquitted two accused Mohd Riyaz Khan and Mohd Abdul Sayeed in connection with killing of V Ramesh, a police constable. The duo were released on Thursday from jail after seven years. Around eight persons were nabbed as accused in two different incidents. First, they were held for killing K Balaswamy, a constable and injuring of Rajender Prasad, another constable on May 17, 2009 at Falaknuma on second anniversary of Mecca Masjid blast day.
Second, they were nabbed for killing Ramesh, a police constable at Shalibanda in 2010 on third anniversary of Mecca Masjid blast.The cases were investigated by SIT who claimed that the members had formed Tahreek Gaalba-e-Islam (TGI) and were avenging the killing of innocent Muslims in police firing post Mecca Masjid blast. During the trail, the accused Mohammed Viquaruddin, Mohd Amjed, Mohd Zakir, Haneef and Izhar Khan of Lucknow were killed in an encounter on April 7, 2016 at Alair in Nalgonda while they were being brought to attend legal proceedings at Nampally court. The trail was proceeded on Riyaz and Abdul Syeed in both the cases of Shalibanda and Falaknuma firing cases.
MBT spokesman Amjed Ullah Khan alleged that all other accused were about to be set free due to lack of evidence against them.
