Hyderabadi becomes topper among girls in country in JEE (Advanced)

HYDERABAD: Hyderabad girl Ramya Narayanasamy, who secured All India Rank (AIR) 35 in Joint Entrance Examination (Advanced) for admissions into Indian Institute of Technology  by scoring 316 out of 366 marks, is the topper among girls in the country.

When contacted, Ramya said, “I was expecting a rank below 150. I had never thought I would be the topper among girls in the country. I would be opting for Computer Science (CS) from IIT-Bombay.”  Ramya, daughter of Dr N Saroja, a school principal and VS Narayanasamy, a Charted Accountant, did her intermediate from Sri Chaitanya Narayana. Ramya said that she is interested in the fields of Augmented Intelligence and Virtual Reality which is what made her decide to pursue graduation in Computer Science.

She had earlier secured AIR 20 in the Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana examination conducted by Department for Science and Technology, making her eligible for fellowships if she takes admissions into premier science institutions like IISc or IISER.
Meanwhile, Vaddela Ashrut secured AIR 17, the best from the state. He also secured the second highest rank from South India. Ashrut, son of V Srinivas working as additional chief engineer with Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited and homemaker V Madhavi, secured AIR 51 in JEE (Mains).

Satvik Ambati from Hyderabad secured AIR 27 followed by A Rohan Ganesh who secured AIR 34. Vabirisetti Mohan Abhyas, who comes from an economically backward  section, secured AIR 64 in the examination. He had secured AIR 6 in the JEE (Mains).
Meanwhile, no student from Telangana among the top 10 rankers in the country has come as a shock to few as usually at least one student figures in top 10 from the state. From the two Telugu states, at least 25 students secured all India ranks within 100.

AP’s achievers
Two students from the neighbouring Andhra Pradesh have made the state proud by securing ranks in the IIT JEE Advanced. S Rohan Abhishek from Kakinada secured third rank in the SC category said while N Niranjan Naik secured AIR 1 in Scheduled Tribe —Person with Disability category. Also, N Dharani Shreyan secured AIR 163 in open category.
