HYDERABAD: How can Ayurveda help you deal with lack of sleep, long work hours, low immunity, stress, anxiety etc. which are problems that most people in the urban workforce of the city face?
Long work hours, stress, low immunity levels and poor eating habits are characteristic of the fast paced go-getter lifestyle that most in the urban workforce face. The main reason behind this is that one’s schedule does not change, the stress is not reduced and the lifestyles usually go back to the way they were before.

With the recent a global move towards natural products and a renewed focus on healthy lifestyles, Ayurveda has come back into the mainstream. Still, the biggest challenge for modern consumers is how to apply principles from this traditional science on a daily basis in a convenient and doable manner.

At Dr. Vaidya’s, we believe in making Ayurveda accessible to the new age consumer - here are a few tips that can help tackle with modern day lifestyle challenges:
n Sparing 20 minutes per day for pranayama/meditation
n Introducing some form of exercise or yoga to calm/divert the mind
n Massage scalp with warm Ayurvedic oil before sleeping
n Adding black pepper, dried ginger, coriander, cumin and turmeric

Other than these home remedies one can also take Ayurvedic supplements that can help with revitalisation, energy and immunity. You can either continue to take Chyawanprash as most Indian children did. This product has multiple components including amla, taj, lavang, elaichi that help with anti-oxidation, muscle toning, digestion and basically help keeping all the body’s systems in order. If one is not comfortable having Chyawanprash then one can either consume amla juice daily or take an Ayurvedic supplement for this purpose.
And, for those suffering from high levels of stress, anxiety or insomnia, one can apply Ayurvedic oils, drink   water with rose petals  or meditate a few minutes before going to bed.
